Scope of Position The Director will develop and implement a volunteer engagement strategy for the USA Western Territory, collaborating across departments to enhance volunteer systems, policies, training, and resources. Responsibilities include leading the transition to new management software, staying ahead of engagement trends, and supporting Advisory Organization engagement. This role is based onsite with a hybrid option after onboarding. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management or related field; Master’s preferred. Minimum ten years in volunteer engagement or five within The Salvation Army. Experience in training, speaking, hiring, evaluating, coaching, and navigating complex organizations. Preferred certifications in E-Learning Development or similar. Skills & Competencies Leadership and management skills. Knowledge of volunteer engagement systems and their impact on organizational sustainability. Data management, online learning, and communication skills. Ability to analyze problems, provide guidance, and interact professionally with diverse stakeholders. Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed. Responsibilities Develop strategies to increase volunteer engagement and support donor volunteers. Provide training and resources to staff and volunteers. Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training. Ensure policies align with best practices and organizational requirements. Evaluate volunteer programs and develop recognition systems. Coordinate communication, online training, data collection, and reporting. Represent volunteer engagement in meetings and events. Support digital transformation and coordinate volunteer activities at events. Physical & Working Conditions Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations. Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs., and operate office equipment. Travel occasionally for meetings, training, and representation.
