Lead Pastor, Lawndale Christian Community Church Youth Pastor Job Description Our goal is to hire a leader who loves teens and young adults and wants to help them become the best versions of themselves and reach their full redemptive potential and calling. The goal is the development of students by introducing them to Jesus and growing them to maturity in their faith walk. A discipling pastoral heart is essential for the care of the local church body and surrounding community. This role is a team-focused role working closely with staff and volunteers to move people closer to Jesus. Participates on various church leadership teams and fully supports the vision and efforts of the church leadership incorporating the vision into their responsibilities. The role is to support and nurture the spiritual growth of the students at LCCC within these 5 areas: Cultivate meaningful relationships in 3 areas: Between the pastor and students Between the student and students Between adult volunteers and students Create intentional programming that does three things: Show students how to have meaningful relationships Know both who God is and who he has created them to be Grow as in obedience to God as a disciple of Jesus Christ Provide transformational discipleship by providing students with a place to: Pursue intimacy with God through spiritual disciplines Make him known by joining God in his mission out in the world Partner with Parents by: Effectively communicating with them Involving them in the process of their student’s development Equipping them to support the spiritual growth of their student Giving students opportunities to lead with real ownership and responsibility Empowering them by listening to their ideas and allowing them to create within the ministry Connecting them to further areas to grow and lead To fulfill this role an individual must believe and actively follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, have a working knowledge of the Bible, be a competent leader and communicator, have a humility to grow and learn and have a love for both God and students. Our work environment includes: Modern office setting Dedicated Youth Center Space Work-from-home days Growth opportunities Access to Church Vehicles Access to all Church Facilities Job Details: Full Time (40 hours) Hybrid Work Environment (office, home, beyond), generally Tuesday through Sunday but may change due to season or events. Willing and able to flex hours due to both personal/family and ministry needs/demands Reports To: Executive Pastor Responsibilities: Middle School High School Young Adults (No direct oversight but stay connected with youth as they transition to young adult ministry) Character, Experience, & Knowledge: Evident relationship with Jesus Christ. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred 1-2 years of relevant ministry experience. Practitioner of Christian Community Development Philosophy Live in North Lawndale Community Models the mission and vision of Lawndale Christian Community Church Spiritually mature Demonstrated leadership skills as outlined in the Bible. Able to teach and preach Additional Capabilities Required: Must be able to use a computer keyboard, read from a computer monitor and utilize a variety of computer software. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to cope with a number of varied and pressing priorities at any given time. Must be able to maintain Christian behaviors and attitudes when faced with difficult, argumentative or other challenging confrontations and conversations. Align with Lawndale Christian Community Church’s Statement of Faith Assist in the development of an annual budget for youth ministry and manage spending to budget.
