Slate Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Registered Nurse - Observation Unit -
Schedule: Variable 12-hour shifts, Monday through Saturday
Hours: Guaranteed 24 hours/week, typically scheduled for 36 hours/week
Weekend Coverage: Saturdays required (no Sundays)
Holiday Coverage: Required
Current RN license in the state of Colorado BLS certification required
ACLS preferred
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or observation unit experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Flexibility to work variable shifts, holidays, and Saturdays as needed.
Position Summary:
In this role, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals requiring observation, treatment, or short-term recovery before discharge or inpatient admission.
You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, promptly identifying any changes or concerns.
Administer medications, perform treatments, and document appropriately.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other team members to ensure continuity of care.
Provide patient and family education as needed.
