Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring EPIC charting experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a secured corrections unit for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmates
• Assignments in both PCU and Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 in PCU and 1:4-5 in Medical-Surgical units
• Patient population includes oncology, medical-surgical, and non-oncology diagnoses
• Utilizes EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts with shift assignment reviews every 4 weeks
• Weekend shift schedule varies by department requirements
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and management of complex medical conditions
• Must adhere to strict security protocols in a locked corrections unit with corrections officers present
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and rapid response teams
• Unit-based resources include interpretation, radiology, and social services
• Scrub and dress code requirements to be provided during orientation

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Medical-Surgical and telemetry skills required
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and specialty equipment such as CPAP/BIPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
