Job Overview

The position requires involvement throughout the life cycle of a service order including design and material procurement. The Engineer will utilize TIRKS, Client's Capacity Creation Process (CCP) system, Canvas, FIM and other internal systems to document all technical solutions and ensure a timely deployment of service.

Base Pay Range

$40.00/hr - $45.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Provisioning of all service orders including but not limited to TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet & Dark Fiber services
• Equipment design utilizing the Intelligent Edge Network (iEN) and GPON network
• Creation of legacy transport systems utilizing TIRKS
• Circuit design utilizing TIRKS (Trunk Integrated Record Keeping System)
• Determines routing of high-capacity circuits over fiber & GPON networks
• Responsible for equipment configurations and card/port assignments
• Manages multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, and decommission
• Manages design requirements for circuit additions, upgrades, outside moves, repairs & rearrangements
• Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards
• Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution
• Maintain excellent communication with field engineering, cross functional team members and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely resolution
• Collaborate with Construction, ISP Planning teams, VPS and OCO

Qualifications

• TIRKS
• OSP Engineering background
• Proficient computer skills (windows-based programs and corporate database systems)
• Demonstrated knowledge of circuit design, SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN
• Strong working knowledge of SONET equipment Fujitsu, Ciena, Cisco, Tellabs, Alcatel Client, & Adtran
• Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and organize work tasks
• Ability to re-prioritize as needed in a fast?paced working environment, especially when dealing with time?sensitive issues and mandated deadlines
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to deliver customer satisfaction

Desired Skills

• Bachelors degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields
• CAD Drawing IDDS (Intelligent Design and Drafting System) / ICGS (Interactive Computer Graphics System) telecommunication engineering system

Salary & Benefits

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $40.00 - $45.00/hour . Non?exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full?time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
