Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Structural Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial building design and review. This individual must hold a Structural Engineer (SE) certification and demonstrate strong technical, analytical, and communication capabilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced with steel frame, concrete frame, and pre-engineered building systems and will be comfortable interfacing with diverse stakeholders across multiple projects. This is a 40/hr/week role and will not require heavy or overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of commercial building types, including steel and concrete frame systems, and pre-engineered buildings.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with industry codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
  • Stamp and seal engineering documents as a licensed PE and SE.
  • Provide clear and actionable written feedback and comments on reviewed projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment across disciplines.
  • Utilize Excel to perform structural calculations, generate reports, and manage data-driven tasks.
  • Proactively manage communication among multiple internal and external stakeholders, adapting to varied personalities and communication styles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Active SE certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on commercial construction.
  • Proficient in structural design codes and standards.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for structural calculations and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities and manage communications across multiple parties.
