Job Description

An opportunity exists for a professional dedicated to supporting students' communication needs in an educational setting. This role is crucial in providing targeted assistance and intervention for individuals requiring speech-language support.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification or license.
  • Bachelors degree in communication sciences and disorders or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with students in a school setting, particularly with special education populations.
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and students.
  • Ability to implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of speech and language therapy programs as directed by a licensed speech-language pathologist.
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students needs and track their progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a comprehensive support plan for students.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions, fostering communication skills in varied contexts.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student progress and needs.
