Position Overview

As our Sales Development Representative (SDR) you’ll own the critical first step of our sales cycle: converting warm inquiries into scheduled, high-quality product demos while executing focused outbound campaigns to new targets. You’ll collaborate daily with Account Executives (AEs), Solutions Engineers and leadership, mastering our value proposition and acting as the tip of the sword in our sales process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Qualification & Outreach: Respond promptly to incoming leads (via website, campaigns, etc.), initiate contact by phone/email, and conduct introductory conversations to identify customer needs. Nurture warm leads and qualify them as potential sales opportunities for our Account Executives.
  • Sales Demo Scheduling: Engage prospects with compelling product information and schedule high-quality demo meetings for the sales team. Ensure a smooth hand-off of qualified leads to Account Executives, providing relevant context gathered during initial calls.
  • Pipeline Development: In addition to warm leads, perform targeted outbound prospecting when needed – this includes researching target companies/contacts, cold calling or emailing prospects, and using creative tactics to spark interest in PureCode.ai’s solutions.
  • Collaboration with Sales & Leadership: Work closely with Account Executives and sales leadership to refine outreach strategies and messaging. Provide feedback on lead quality and market insights. Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and strategy discussions to continuously improve our sales process.
  • CRM Management: Diligently log activities, interactions, and prospect data into the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) to maintain an accurate sales pipeline. Track your progress against weekly and monthly goals (calls made, meetings set, opportunities created) and prepare reports for management.
  • Meet or Exceed Targets: Take ownership of your metrics – e.g., number of qualified demos scheduled, conversion rates – and consistently aim to meet or surpass quota. Bring a self-starter attitude to experiment with new outreach techniques and optimize results.

Qualifications and Skills

  •  Experience: 6+ months of experience in a sales development, lead generation, or appointment-setting role (BDR/SDR or similar). Experience in the tech or SaaS industry is a strong plus. (Exceptionally driven candidates with relevant internship or academic project experience in sales/business may also be considered.)
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable speaking with prospects on the phone and crafting professional emails. Ability to pitch an innovative product’s value in a concise, engaging manner.
  • Sales Aptitude: Basic understanding of the B2B sales process and hunger to learn more. Familiarity with using a CRM and sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesloft/Outreach) is preferred. Proven ability to handle rejection with resilience and remain upbeat and persistent.
  • Collaborative & Coachable: A team player who can closely collaborate with Account Executives and take guidance from mentors. Open to feedback and eager to refine your sales skills through training and coaching.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. (Relevant experience and demonstrated skills are more important than a specific degree.)
  • Motivation & Work Ethic: Highly self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented . Able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced startup environment. A positive attitude with a desire to immerse yourself in the product and industry.
  • Location: Must be based in the Austin, TX area (or willing to relocate) and able to work full-time in our downtown office . You thrive in an in-person team setting and understand the value of hallway conversations, on-the-spot collaboration, and a tight-knit office culture.
