Job Description

Our customer is seeking a Process Engineer to drive process improvement initiatives that reduce waste, enhance quality, and increase operational efficiency. This role is responsible for implementing Lean Manufacturing practices, analyzing current processes for improvement opportunities, and executing strategies to optimize production. This role is based in Eminence, KY and will be onsite 5 days a week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing processes and tools.
• Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Create and execute process improvement plans.
• Monitor process performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement new processes.
• Maintain detailed documentation for all new or modified processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
• Extensive experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen Facilitation (5S, Standard Work, SMED, TPM).
• Experience in Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI), including Lean Manufacturing Visual Daily Management (Tier 1-4 Boards).
• Strong background in Project Management Office (PMO) with complex productivity/OEE improvement projects.
• Experience in Quality Systems (APQP, PFMEA, Corrective & Preventive Actions, Control Plans) in a manufacturing environment, with automotive industry experience being a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing major equipment outages and new equipment installations, overseeing internal and external resources.
• Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis (8-D, 5 Whys) and implement corrective actions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
• 3-7+ years of experience in an industrial environment with a focus on engineering and maintenance.
• Preferred experience in metal/materials processing or tool & die work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited university preferred.
• Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and tools (Kaizen, 5S, etc.).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Frequently required to walk, sit, and use hands for handling objects.
• Occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Industrial setting with varying temperatures, loud noise levels, and high activity.
