City-State, LLC is currently recruiting for a Nuclear Safety/Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer-#9351 for UCOR in Oak Ridge, TN to support their work at the Oak Ridge Facility .
Job Description:
Using discretion and independent judgment Nuclear Safety Engineers are responsible for creation of NCS Documents, which comply with 10 CFR 830, DOE Standards, and UCOR procedures. Develop and maintain Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documents. Interface with management and operations to resolve nuclear and criticality safety issues. Daily to weekly written and verbal communication with operations, engineering staff, UCOR management, and DOE staff.
Job Duties:
Principal job duties include:
- Development, revision, and peer review of Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documentation such as Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs), Nuclear Criticality Safety Determinations (NCSDs), Technical Deviations (TDs), and various other NCS technical basis documentation.
- Completion of required NCS annual Operational Reviews, as needed.
- Daily nuclear facility support, as needed, consisting of facility walkdowns, review of NCS requirements implementing documents, participation at facility Operational Safety Boards, etc.
- Documents and Requirements – Prepare, review, and verify implementation of Nuclear Safety Basis, DSA, TSR, and Nuclear Criticality Safety documents and requirements.
- Resolution of Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Determinations (USQD) issues.
- Provide factual accuracy review of Safety Evaluation Reports (SERs).
- Nuclear Safety-related assessments and/or walk-throughs.
- Nuclear safety-related DOE orders and regulations compliance support, including UCOR implementation of USQ guidance.
- Support UCOR in performance of routine and ad-hoc reviews, assessments, and oversight walk-downs of Nuclear safety program adequacy, Implementation and Compliance verification/oversight activities.
