Mount Vernon Middle School is looking for a caring and student-centered Guidance Counselor grades 5-8.

Duties:

• Partner with teachers, administrators, and support staff to help meet students' academic, emotional, and social needs.



• Check in regularly with students and track their well-being, progress, and goals.



• Provide small group and one-on-one support to students navigating challenges or transitions.



• Keep clear and confidential records to help monitor student interventions and outcomes.



• Serve as a bridge between school and home—keeping open, compassionate communication with families, especially for students who may need extra support.



• Promote and help implement social-emotional learning (SEL) and positive behavior strategies across the school.
