Job Description

Thermalsun Glass Products is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our glass fabrication plant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical, electrical, and control systems across the plant. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment involving precision glass processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on all plant machinery including cutting lines, tempering furnaces, CNC machines, polishing equipment, and automated handling systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to avoid recurrence of equipment failures.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, logs, and documentation in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimize equipment performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Determine material, parts and equipment to be used for repair and communicate needs to supervisor.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, order replacements, and ensure critical components are readily available.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors performing maintenance or installations on-site.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Support commissioning and installation of new equipment and modifications to existing systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), 5S, and lean manufacturing projects.
  • Comply with all company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years industrial/commercial maintenance experience with strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to trouble shoot the following: PLCs, HMIs, electrical control panels, machine logic controllers and variable frequency drives.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and drawings and manuals.
  • Thorough understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes and drive trains.
  • Thorough understanding of AC and DC circuits, electrical devices and instrumentation are able to use Volt/ Ohm/ Amp meter.
  • Experience with CAD software and maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours as well as some weekends.
  • Knowledge of computer systems with Microsoft operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lock out / Tag Out (LOTO) and other forms of personal protective equipment.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires constant walking throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily plant-floor based in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery. Constant exposure to hazards including confined spaces, sharp objects, climbing, working in positions above and under equipment.
  • May require rotating shifts or on-call availability depending on plant needs.
