Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.

The team is seeking an experienced Lab Manager to drive the development of next-generation robotic systems through rapid prototyping and advanced testing. You'll manage our cutting-edge prototyping facility where breakthrough robotic concepts move from ideation to reality, leveraging your expertise to rapidly iterate designs, conduct sophisticated testing protocols, and validate new robotic solutions. You'll push the boundaries of robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction to reshape how automation works at Amazon's scale.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead our advanced prototyping facility, overseeing the development of robotic end-effectors, manipulation systems, and complete workcells while managing multiple concurrent projects
- Drive rapid prototyping initiatives from concept to validation, including quick iteration cycles, comprehensive testing frameworks, and integration testing of hardware/software systems
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, maintaining advanced fabrication equipment (3D printers, CNC machines) and ensuring efficient workflow between design, prototyping, and testing phases
- Develop and implement testing strategies, validation protocols, and data collection/analysis methods for evaluating prototype performance
- Coordinate with engineering teams to optimize designs based on test results while maintaining detailed documentation of processes and results
- Ensure safety compliance and manage lab protocols specific to robotics development
- Direct the maintenance and optimization of laboratory equipment, including fabrication tools and testing apparatus

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering or related field
- 6+ years experience in robotics development and prototyping
- Proven expertise with rapid prototyping technologies and methodologies
- Strong understanding of robotic systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Experience managing technical laboratories or prototyping facilities
- Proficiency in CAD software and fabrication techniques
