Position Title: IT Specialist (Applications Software).
Pay Scale & Grade: GS-13.
Salary Range: $107,535 - $139,797 per year.
Job Type: Full-Time, Federal Employee.
Bargaining Unit: Covered by National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
As an IT Specialist in Applications Software, your typical duties will include:
Developing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies for planning and delivering application software services.
Designing, developing, integrating, and deploying software solutions supporting complex, real-time border surveillance systems.
Translating and implementing IT policies and standards into enterprise-wide software development practices.
Managing software-related projects and providing expert technical advice and coordination to stakeholders.
Recommending technology strategies and procedures to improve organizational performance.
Qualifications:

Specialized Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, including:
Planning and managing projects to enhance software service delivery.
Presenting technical briefings and clarifying software deployment procedures.
Coordinating with stakeholders to monitor project milestones and software deployment timelines.
Translating business requirements into technical specifications to develop, test, and implement software solutions.
Note: Your resume must clearly reflect how you meet these qualifications. Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including internships and volunteer activities.
Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
Must be a U.S. Citizen .
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
Must have resided in the U.S. for at least three of the past five years (some exceptions apply).
Must pass a background investigation and possibly a drug test in accordance with DHS policies.
Must meet ethics and conflict of interest standards ; outside employment may require prior approval.
Must complete an online assessment measuring core general competencies.
May be subject to a one-year probationary period (for new federal employees).
