Job Description

Roux Associates, Inc. provides integrated environmental services for investigation, remediation, and redevelopment of environmentally challenged properties throughout Western New York from our Buffalo, New York office.

We seek a Heavy Equipment Operator to support our environmental remediation projects and facilities located throughout Western New York. CDL license preferred. Position Requirements

  • Preferred 2 years of construction equipment operator experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Experience running Heavy Equipment such as excavator backhoe, loader, grader, scraper, bulldozer, skid steer, tractor, and other pieces of heavy equipment.
  • Valid and clean driver’s license. Prefer a CDL Class A or B license
  • Experienced in proficient use of above equipment, preferably on remediation or commercial development projects
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter after basic training.
  • High School or Associates technical degree
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with basic Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Essential Duties

  • Model and promote good safety practices.
  • Operation of dump trucks as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment (bulldozer, excavator, front end loader) proficiently.
  • Attentive to health & safety regulations, company/jobsite requirements and project details, schedule and budget.
  • Be available to work weekends and overtime occasionally as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with others.

Physical Demands/Work Environment Conditions

  • Pass a company paid baseline and periodic health physical and drug screening, as well as motor vehicle record check, as required
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Walk up and down steeply sloped terrain.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy loads and perform manual labor as required.

Hourly Salary Range: $28 - $32. This range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity.
