Dog Trainer at Alan's K9 Academy Dog Trainer Role Overview The Dog Trainer is responsible for transforming dogs and their owners’ lives through expert, relationship-based training. This position is ideal for someone passionate about canine behavior, leadership, and communication — who thrives in a structured yet rewarding environment. You’ll work hands-on with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, guide owners through our proven training methods, and help every client experience lasting success at home and beyond. Key Responsibilities Train dogs through balanced, results-driven methods focused on trust, respect, and consistency. Provide private lessons and board & train programs tailored to each dog’s needs. Coach clients on handling techniques, leadership, and communication to maintain progress. Track each dog’s training goals, behavior updates, and daily routines with accuracy. Collaborate with the training team to uphold quality, safety, and client satisfaction standards. Qualifications Proven experience in professional dog training and dog behavior modification; verifiable references required. Confident handling of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments with structure and empathy. Strong communication and teaching skills when working with both dogs and owners. Physically capable of active, outdoor work and lifting up to 50+ lbs as needed. Reliable, professional, and passionate about continued growth in the dog training industry.
