Job Title: Commercial Roofing Estimator

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial roofing projects, utilizing onscreen takeoff software to analyze blueprints and specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure profitable and feasible project estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform onscreen takeoffs using digital estimating software (e.g., Edge, PlanSwift, or similar) to measure roofing materials, quantities, and project scope from blueprints and architectural plans.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and timelines, for submission to clients and contractors.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to review estimates, address client inquiries, and adjust bids as needed.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost accuracy and competitiveness.
• Identify potential project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving measures during the estimation process.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing materials, industry standards, and local building codes.
• Ensure all estimates are completed within deadlines and align with company profitability goals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial roofing estimation or a related field.
• Proficiency in onscreen takeoff software (e.g., Edge, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, modified bitumen, metal roofing).
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in measurements and calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• [Optional: Certification in estimating or roofing (e.g., RCI, NRCA) is a plus.]

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
